How a BOP Can Help You Reduce Costs

A BOP, or Business Owner's Policy, provides small business owners with an efficient, cost-effective insurance policy. While small businesses face many of the same potential risks as larger ones — fire, property damage or general liability, for example — it can be too complicated and costly to obtain multiple coverages from multiple sources. A BOP lets you to put everything together into one policy. Additional endorsements specific to your type of business may be added, such as liquor liability for a restaurant.

What if an insurance claim exceeds the limits of your BOP? You can carry a business umbrella policy, also called excess liability or commercial umbrella insurance — an affordable way to gain additional protection.

Since a BOP is designed for smaller businesses, companies with up to 100 employees and revenues of $5 million or less are typically eligible for this type of coverage. To see if a BOP makes sense for your business, ask your licensed insurance agent about a risk analysis review today.
